How to you make base polyhedron view stels

I've been trying to make stel files with the silver rods and golden spheres but I don't know how to do it. I wanted a faceting of a polyhedron but I don't know how to transform it into base polyhedron view.

To make the faceted polyhedron the new base polyhedron, you can use either menu "Faceting->Create Faceted Polyhedron" or keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F.

Also, in many view, you can hit the left-and-down arrow button at the top right of the window to convert the model in that view to be the new base model.
