Re: Noble polyhedra. Where can I find them?

It is that truncated icosidodecahedron problem that I mentioned above. Stella can‘t handle it because there are too many data.
Some of the Brückner polyhedra with 120 vertices from the library can be used as source for new noble ones and stella doesn‘t crash. But all of them have only 60 vertices ...

Re: Noble polyhedra. Where can I find them?

Very nice! I could construct them from W115_01_d resp. W110_01_d.
The faces of your third one are very similar to those of W96_01_sd, but
the stellation diagram is different.

Re: A few pics

The second compound is really cool.
You had to cut and glue some very small facelets.

Re: Noble polyhedra. Where can I find them?

I was able to reproduce this, it‘s really nice. Unfortunately it is only isohedral.

I sent you a table with my noble findings the other day in a private message, so that you can compare your list with mine.

Re: Noble polyhedra. Where can I find them?

In my paper paper for this year‘s Bridges Conference in Helsinki (which has been cancelled due to corona) I describe how I used Stella4D to create noble polyhedra. I did it in the way Robert mentioned above and which is very easy to do. I was only interested in distinct ones, not in componds. I ...

Re: Internal Parts

If you select the stellation view in the view toolbar, you can step through the stellations by hitting the up/down keys and you get all internal parts you like.

Re: Built Models of Compound Polyhedra

Marcel,

great models, assembled very precisely!

Is the nomenclature of these compounds ( 10A.., 10B..., ) written anywhere?

Thanks! The work at the next one is languishing a little bit, but I still hope to finish it this year.

I‘m very glad that it received the prize as best 3D artwork at this year‘s Bridges Conference in Linz.

Great model! Pretty paper, pretty colours, precise work.

Are the dodecagons and the decagons of the convex hull regular?

Oh, that‘s cool and I willingly believe that it is great fun to create such things. „Treat“ is my favorite and I think there is even some King Crimson shining through.

Re: Solved twisty puzzle

This looks like a really huge attainment, congratulations!
These Rubik‘s-like puzzles are much too hard for me and they take far too much time.
And I must confess that I‘d rather see you working on new features in the Stella program  :D
