Is there an option to truncate/chop off part of an object ?

ie, i only want half a sphere in the output file.

There isn't currently a specific feature to do that, but you can usually do it another way.

One way is to use faceting. Open a Faceting Preview view. Drop to no symmetry or pyramidal symmetry if your dome will still have one axis of symmetry. Create new facets based on half the faces, and create a final facet to close the base.

Another way would be to add it to a simple model with faces through its centre, eg the tetrahemihexahedron. Drop to lower symmetry again (the symmetry the final model will have). Then use the Stellation view and hide all the stellation cells on one side of one of those faces going through the centre. If you make the hemi-hedron's scale small before adding them, so it's hidden inside, then you won't also have to hide additional cells caused by the that polyhedron.

That's a quick overview, so see how you go and let me know if you get stuck somewhere.
