Displaying 3D models on iPad

Post by Paul Hague » Thu May 09, 2013 3:30 pm

I've just spent a frustrating couple of hours trying to find an app that could display Stella4D 3D models on my original iPad running iOS 5.1.1.

Afanche's iView3D-VRML came closest with .wrl. But it ignored the colour information, which I can display on my iMac. One other app only supported a wireframe view with .dxf. Another app could not download an .obj file and required texture in png format. .stl doesn't support colour, I understand.

Could anyone please recommend an iPad app that can display 3D Stella4D models rotated by touch or even animated in colour? If this is not possible, could Stella4D 3D models be converted to another format that could be read by an app on the iPad?

PS And many thanks for a quite amazing program, which I've been enjoying from time to time for many years. Lot's of fun!
