Re: Possible Wenninger Erratum

I have a reprint from 1987. There it is written in the same way: RB in row (2). I never realized that this is an error.

Re: Need images of platonician polyhedra inside one another

In the Stella4D library there is a section "Leonardo-style". There you find a model called "Leonardo Cosmogram 3". From this you can extract all pairs that you need just by selecting and deleting the ones you don't need. Then you can export images of them in many different formats. Ulrich https://i....

Re: What is this Polyhedra called.

I tried to make something like that from 6 „pentagrammic rings“

That would be great! I‘m really eager to create isohedral facetings from Grid.

Re: Two new noble polyhedra - a new source of convex hulls to search from?

Robert,
does this mean that we will never be able to solve the noble polyhedra problem with the help of Stella4D?

Re: Two new noble polyhedra - a new source of convex hulls to search from?

I gave my computer another 16-GB memory and I got some noble 120-vertex-polyhedra but all of them were compounds. And in many other cases Stella crashes as before. I tried all uniform ones and their duals, the compounds of pairs of chiral 60-vertex noble polyhedra but I didn‘t find any distinct new ...

Up to now the best one imho was this:

Re: Sharpohedron

I found your model on page 41 of Wenzel Jamnitzer‘s Perspectiva Corporum Regularium: https://digital.slub-dresden.de/werkansicht/dlf/12830/41/0/ He drew a compound of it with an octahedron inside, the spikes of which are looking through the central squares of the crosses, building 4-fold pyramids on...

Re: Sharpohedron

That‘s very nice! I never saw it before. It‘s a truncated octahedron augmented by 8 triangular cupolae (j3).
Switzerland should take a gif file of this rotating model as a flag on their website schweiz.ch.
