It is 10 months since I first opened this topic, and after a couple of false starts and long periods "in the wilderness", I finally have something to show: <a href="http://s1135.photobucket.com/user/polypete/media/Polyhedra/MW63small_zps2729f1f9.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1135.photo...

This is really a case of the blind leading the blind, because I haven't eny experience of importing models, but the Stella Help file says this: "If all else fails, and you can't find a way to create your favourite model in Stella4D, fear not! You can always import it from an external file. Currently...

Rob, Thanks for your comments. I'm not sure if this will work, but we discussed options for building vertex-connected polys here: http://www.software3d.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?t=210&highlight= If that doesn't work, look for my post "Delicate Flower or Triffid ?". After that, I stayed well clear of ...

Re: Great Icosahedron - complex core
I've made several Great Icosahedrons and have noticed that it isn't quite as stable as say a Great Dodecahedron. I'm using index cards or thick colored cardboard, but it still has a tendency to deform a little. I thought of gluing a complex core inside to add some stability. For the Great Icosahedr...

Help with MW63
I’m looking for some help with the 16th stellation of the icosidodecahedron (MW 63). This is a vertex-connected polyhedra. I’ve chosen special colour arrangement 2 (dodecahedral) so that the pentagonal faces are all the same colour, but stuck on what to do about the backs of the cells. The easy opti...

Rob, I used Stella to generate nets for the cube (how lazy can you get ?) and octahedron, but I used a compass to draw the curves (circular arcs). Even after all this time, I still only use a small percentage of Stella's capabilities, but that's because I can't sepnd as much time on my hobby as I'd ...

Cube and Octahedron
Just to show that I haven't been wasting my time over Christmas ;-) http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m629/polypete/CubeandOctahedron_zps82c0358c.jpg I saw a computer-generated image of this cube and its dual -the octahedron- and their common mid-sphere. Incidentally, if you ever need to glue anyt...

Hmm, don't know what happened there. I was mid-way through a post. I'll start again. I have created a mock-up model that I think illustrates the process that is used to create this polyhedron: http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m629/polypete/IMGP0748-B.jpg Each trapezium on the central yellow band ...
