Re: New Rubik's Cube-style puzzle made from paper

Never seen this one. That is an awesome model, Robert! Is it still in one piece?

Just completed this. I was fooling around with some of the 4D built in .stel files, and came up with this. I'll send the file next.
Nice work, Robin!

Re: Yet another stellated icosahedron

Once upon a time I thought I would build that one too: all in all I like this polyhedron. Just one kind of facelet and I like the twisted symmetry. I never built a model of it though. Nice work, Peter!

I‘m very glad that it received the prize as best 3D artwork at this year‘s Bridges Conference in Linz.
That is Cool! Congratulations, I am sure you deserved that. What a work!! Good luck with the next one!

Re: On display in Finland

I wasn't there and haven't visited the Bridges Conference for quite some years. Not even the one in Sweden (where I live). During that time I was hiking in the Swedish mountains up in the North. Next year's Bridges is in Finland again, and I hope I can be there. Nice to see your models, Robert! Sorr...

Re: Constructing models with transparent faces?

Late reply, but I haven't been active on this forum so much (forgat checking actively) Anyway.. The answer is: yes, I did. I made some models of polychora. I use plastic overhead sheets, on which I printed a little bit of colour. One result is here: https://i.postimg.cc/TLq2QptS/Rect5-Cell.jpg Here ...

Re: What's the most complex model you've ever made?

The model with the most amount of pieces to glue has changed for me (finished last year in Februari). Now it is the Great Diretrosnub Icosidodecahedron consisting of 2580 facelets https://i.postimg.cc/ThnxGM02/gidrissid-O5.jpg I have a page with some more pictures and an interactive model here: http...

Haven't been around for a while and look so many posts. And I thought that I would receive mail. I guess I have to check my settings. Anyway. Just wanted to say 1 thing here. I share your love for chiral models! Besides the fact that they are usually more challenging to build, I think they are intri...

Last monday I was sick: I was lying in bed staring at my models of compounds of cubes and my mind wandered off. I thought that there should be a compound of containing 5 times a compound of six cubes (6 | S4 x I / D2 x I). Yesterday evening (I felt much better then) I tried it and found myself looki...

Tintin-R

Hi,

My 4 year old son asked me to create a rocket polyhedron. I though I would share it with you.

:D I don't think I will build this one again, except perhaps to keep a version for myself anyway... In this thread: http://software3d.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?p=242#242 There is a link to a zip file containing all compounds. This one should be included as 30A.A5xI.C2xI.mu7.off For a compound ...

Actually I give quite many nowadays. It is difficult sometimes, but what if I have everything at home and a fire breaks out?...
On the other hand I do miss some of them as well. Here is one example: http://tunnissen.eu/polyh/Cubes30.html

What does everyone else use for hole poking? I go through needles pretty fast, and I'm pretty sick of hot gluing them to sticks... I actually bought a special tool a long time ago. I guess it was more than 10 years ago, since it was before I moved to Sweden. I bought it in a hobby shop: http://i248...
