Re: A few pics

Here’s a couple of recent projects. The first is a compound of 5 Tetrahedrons and a Small Stellated Dodecahedron. The second is a compound of 3 Cubes and 3 Tetrahedrons. https://i.postimg.cc/YGLHf2Zy/0-B4-A7-ED1-67-A6-414-D-B312-E65-AECD368-C0.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/XBw6mHVf/B0-BE89-E6-E035-4-C01-...

Re: A few pics

Here’s a compound of Great Dodecahedron and Great Dodecahemidodecahedron. Basically, I wanted the star placed in what would have been a pentagon, for strength. To do this, I scaled it to where the points of the star met the points of the pentagon. https://i.postimg.cc/xXzTpZXq/22-FBBBF1-4908-4-D6-E-...

Re: A few pics

This is a model of Bruckner 23,7 (5,7). I thought I would try tans, browns, and beige. Did this one about two months ago. https://i.postimg.cc/4mVsG91x/123-A2-D0-F-1568-4-E17-902-A-6-E6-EF1-E16-A9-F.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/PpCnRpxh/5-BF87-B2-E-F78-A-4335-B491-2059-CCC1-E174.jpg https://i.postimg.cc...

Re: A few pics

I have to admit a bit of ignorance. What is meant by the term “symmetry group”? Or, the mu variable? I took high school geometry in 1971, but haven’t used it much since. I didn’t get into trigonometry much, and have forgotten it anyhow by now. Is there a book I could use to bring me up to snuff in t...

Re: A few pics

Wow! Those are stunning. (Would you be able to post the files?). Since I’ve just begun making compounds, I haven’t gotten into the fine points of alignment. What I did was to bring the three polyhedrons into a memory slot for each one. My first attempt created one inside of and hiding the other. I r...

Re: A few pics

Yes, this was in the early 1970’s; I wish I could remember what the book was. I was interested, but (considering the methods of the time) I felt it would have been more work than I was willing to expend. I really want to thank you for your program ,making it so much easier. Back in the day, using a ...

Re: A few pics

Just finished my first compound, a tetrahedron, cube, and dodecahedron. Here’s a few pics: I remember seeing a compound of 14 cubes in a book, years ago. I would like to try that next. Thinking on it, I believe the 15th cube would match the positioning of the first cube (with a different face at tha...

Just completed this. I was fooling around with some of the 4D built in .stel files, and came up with this. I'll send the file next.

dividing net pieces

I'm interested in building a "Crossed Heptagrammic Cupoliac Blend, Symbol: Q+ 7/5. Some of the pieces are quite tiny! I've selected Color per face, giving 29 different colors. I've enlarged the scale to allow the maximum size which the net pieces will fit on a sheet 8"x11-1/2" (shortest edge, approx...

my vote for feature request

I definitely vote to have an option to eliminate 3d lighting. When attempting to custom color a model, it is a bit of a nuisance. For example, if I am using 3 different shades of blue, a light, medium, and a dark, when rotating the view, a light blue will change through the range of blues (by shadow...

Re: A few pics

I think I should have gone for smaller, as you say it is hard to store. I thought about giving it to a classroom, thinking that they might have more room, but my daughter wanted it for her home. You may have noticed some creases. The pentagrams (stars) are the weak areas. I reinforced some of them w...

Re: A few pics

Here's a W-76, the Rhombidoecadocecahedron approximately 23 inches tall, with each parallel plane a separate color (I think this was 23 different colors). I completed it about a month ago. It's too bad that the photos in the book "Polyhedron Models" by Wenninger aren't in color. Black and white just...

Just a few pics of recent models I've done. W-58 done in a poinsettia styling and coloring. With, and without stamens added https://i.postimg.cc/Lhbj1MPh/IMG-0716.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/yDq9LXvH/IMG-0717-2.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/JtGkmdF8/IMG-0726.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/4nqh3QC9/IMG-0729.jpg

Re: coloring for nets

Well, I printed example nets, increasing line widths up to eight. No worries decreasing precision, it only makes the lines easier to see! Never got a "fat" line. This should work nicely!
