Gherkin revisited

Hi Rob,

Received thanks.

I'm really impressed with your digital filing system!

Many many thanks, looking forward to building on the work of Squeaky, yourself and Ulrich. Will post to the Forum as this project progresses.

Kind regards

David

The Gherkin revisited

Hi Rob and others I've decided that for my next modular origami project I'd like to attempt to construct a model of the London "gherkin" and was delighted to find this model had already been discussed on this forum back in 2008. Like Squeaky, my main use of Great Stella will be to create an approxim...

Symmetrohedra

Hi Rob and thanks for this Since posting this query I’ve found that Robert Austin on his blog at https://robertlovespi.wordpress.com has several references to Symmetrohedra all of which he has found using Stella4D: https://robertlovespi.wordpress.com/2013/11/29/a-bowtie-polyhedron-featuring-regular-...

Symmetrohedra

Another newbie question! I recently discovered Symmetrohedra. See http://archive.bridgesmathart.org/2001/bridges2001-21.pdf for a copy of the 2001 Kaplan/Hart paper on the topic, and Craig Kaplan's web pages at http://www.cgl.uwaterloo.ca/~csk/projects/symmetrohedra/ for some graphics. My question: ...

N-gonal pyramids

I had an email exchange with Rob regarding n-gonal pyramids, an edited version of which is repeated below for the benefit of Forum members. On 5/07/2015, I wrote: "I've been attempting to produce various pyramids in Great Stella with different bases - up to a 20-gon. Unfortunately I get the error me...

Zonohedrification

Hi Rob Have been a little busy, hence this belated response. Many thanks for all your efforts on the two issues I raised. Greatly appreciated. All going well I'll find some time this weekend to revisit my earlier attempts to reproduce Fat and Skinny, and will also start thinking seriously about a nu...

Retrieving information in info window

Hi Rob,

Apart from doing a screen/window capture is there any way of retrieving the information in the Great Stella info window? Appreciate that there is an export metric info menu command, but this doesn't appear to give the same information eg number of n gons of each type.

Thanks

Zoohedrification

Hi dekay5555555 Thanks for sharing your learning journey, and your videos. You've saved me a lot of time and provided some very useful pointers. I've now got a lof of information to process and hopefully make sense of! Another question for all members of the forum - does anyone have any .stel or .of...

Re: Zonohedra

Just to chime in and it may not be of any help, but I would like to point out that Pascal's Triangle can be useful in predicting Zonohedra Thanks so much for pointing this out. Fascinating and I wasn't aware of the connection which I'll now pursue. You've also renewed my interest in Pascal's triang...

Hi Rob and thanks for your response (1) Not sure how to do this off-hand. When you tell it to only use a limited number of zones, the order is random. But I'm sure there'd be a way to do it. . I'll keep trying with this one. (2) Start with the truncated cuboctahedron, then create a zonohedron (not a...

Zonohedrification

Hi By way of introduction, I recently purchased Great Stella and am absolutely blown away by its capabilities, and by the highly professional way in which it has been designed and presented - I find the user interface generally makes the software very easy to use, even for a newcomer like myself. I ...
