Post by jbuddenh » Thu Jan 22, 2009 6:38 pm

So I have this beautiful polyhedron rotating on my screen in greatstella and I'm thinking, how could I get this on YouTube. So how can I do this? Is there a way?

There's no way to export a video directly from Stella. Well, not yet anyway. However I believe there are programs around to capture video directly from the screen. I don't know the details, but you could find one of those and give it a try.

Thanks for answering, Rob. It would be a nice feature. Perhaps flash could be used, but I really know nothing of flash. I have used POVRAY to create frames and free software (can't remember what) to combine them. Stella was not involved but here is an example on YouTube:

So, if somehow frames of a stella polyhedron rotating could be dumped to disk, they could be combined to a video.
