A Duality-related Question
Can you take the faces of a polyhedron, along with the faces of its dual, and "rearrange" them into a new polyhedron? I noticed that you can with the Platonic Solids (you get the icosidodecahedron and cuboctahedron this way) but I was wondering if this applies to any (or all) other polyhedra. Possib...

I recently made a model of this polyhedron with 6 colors in the way you described, oxenholme. It turned out fairly well with 65 lb (about 245 gsm) card. Mine had an edge length of about 4.318 cm (the length of the short diagonal of the slim rhombus was 1 inch). It is, as Rob said, a very delicate mo...

Tools: X-acto knife Sheet of old balsa wood that I cut slices out of for glue spreading Large needle hot-glued onto an old pencil (for hole poking) P...

I got into polyhedra last fall via a Wikipedia search for "dodecahedron". I was amazed that I hadn't ever heard of any of these things before, and so that night I built one out of poster board. After that I was hooked. I've made around 30 models and incurred $6.20 of library fines for Wenninger's "P...
